COLLIERS CANADA GREENLIGHTS ECOPILOT CANADA

From AI design platforms to air-quality sensors, recently technologies were assessed by Colliers Canada’s innovative PropTech Lab, designed to guide clients in selecting tools that could revolutionize construction, building management, and energy conservation.

Since May 2024, EcoPilot's iBOS energy has been running a pilot project at the Ravelin Properties REIT owned, Colliers-managed Maritime Centre in Halifax, NS. The results of the project have been impressive. In fact, iBOS energy received immediate “green lights” from Colliers’ PropTech team, which highlighted our technology for boosting energy efficiency.

John Duda, a key executive at Colliers Canada, highlighted that over 90% of the tools evaluated in the PropTech Lab demonstrated potential for cost and time savings. Among the standout technologies, iBOS energy delivered impressive results, achieving a notable 10% reduction in heating and electricity costs at the Maritime Centre within just 10 months. This success underscores both the platform’s energy efficiency and its substantial financial impact.  This project is further supported by Efficiency Nova Scotia's Pay for Performance program, which will rebate the company at $0.10 / KWh of electricity saved.

COLLIERS PROPTECH LAB 

The Colliers PropTech Lab is part of Colliers' broader initiative to integrate technology into the commercial real estate industry. It focuses on developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance property management, investment, and operations. One of the key components is the Colliers PropTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars, which supports startups at the intersection of technology and real estate

The lab aims to provide value-enhancing strategies and tools, such as the Colliers 360 Suite, which offers in-depth property portfolio analyses through a user-friendly platform. This helps clients make data-driven decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
