1190 HORNBY CASE STUDY

FRESCO BUILDING EFFICIENCY VALIDATES CONCERT’S 1190 HORNBY

“The associated first-year benefits with this upgrade are impressive.”

With support from BOMA BC, the team at Fresco Building Efficiency have released a case study for Concert Properties 1190 Hornby, located in downtown Vancouver.  This BOMA Go Green certified office and retail building was built in 1985 of reinforced concrete, it is a 12-storey commercial building comprising office space, a retail component on the ground level and two levels of underground parking. 1190 Hornby is also Concert Properties’ Vancouver Head Office.

Concert incorporated iBOS®'s AI solution as an application to its HVAC system to not only support their greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reduction objectives, but also with an aim to improve occupant comfort and reduce the building’s operating costs.

Case Study and Retrofits

The BOMA BC Case Studies and Retrofit Guides offer practical examples of efficiency and decarbonization projects, providing valuable insights into their implementation, potential pitfalls, and essential elements for success. The guide is continually updated to provide the latest information on ways to improve the sustainability of your building portfolio.

Originally released in 2022, the comprehensive guide has been downloaded hundreds of times. To cater to those seeking a quicker overview, BOMA has now introduced a simplified, graphical version that highlights the key steps for conducting a deep energy retrofit.
