1 Adelaide Street

At 1 Adelaide Street East in Toronto, managed by GWLRA, EcoPilot deployed iBOS® Energy to deliver AI-driven HVAC optimization to this landmark Toronto office tower with roots dating to 1928 and extensive renovations over time. EcoPilot integrated with the building’s existing systems to continuously optimize HVAC operation, with the goal of reducing energy use and operating costs while improving comfort consistency for tenants. Work was coordinated with the onsite building automation contractor, Siemens, integrating with the Siemens Desigo BAS platform while keeping existing controls in place.

Through real-time, AI-powered HVAC optimization, EcoPilot Canada delivered strong first-year results. The site achieved significant reductions in energy use, emissions, and operating costs, including a 19% decrease in steam consumption and a 17% reduction in HVAC electricity use. This translated to $136,694 in savings, 1,842 MWh of energy avoided, and a reduction of 253 tonnes of CO₂e.

1 Adelaide Street East has earned multiple recognitions, including BOMA BEST Platinum, a BOMA Certificate of Excellence, LEED Gold, Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification, and the TOBY – Office Building of the Year award at both local and national levels.
