BOMEX 2025 in Halifax was an unforgettable week of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. EcoPilot was proud to take part in multiple events — from education sessions and building tours to hosting the Braindate Lounge. Here’s a look back at what you might have missed.
Our Director of Technical Solutions, Tobias Janes, joined Colliers and Ravelin Properties REIT to present “Onboarding AI in Commercial Real Estate: Challenges, Breakthroughs & Success.” Attendees heard the real story of AI onboarding at Halifax’s Maritime Centre including the hurdles, the breakthroughs, and how the project earned a green light from the Colliers PropTech Lab. They explored how AI-powered HVAC optimization and building automation are transforming the commercial real estate industry. Attendees learned from the real-world case study at Halifax’s Maritime Centre, where Colliers and Ravelin worked with EcoPilot to integrate AI into existing Building Automation Systems (BAS).
The discussion highlighted:
Key hurdles and breakthroughs in AI adoption for CRE
How the Colliers PropTech Lab evaluated and approved the project
The measurable impact on energy efficiency, tenant comfort, and operational performance
At BOMEX Canada, attendees toured Scotia Square / Marlstone, one of Crombie REIT’s flagship properties in downtown Halifax. This 1.2 million sq. ft. office and retail complex is not only a local landmark but also one of EcoPilot’s best client results buildings and showcases how AI can transform HVAC efficiency at scale.
